We have just had a bad bout of weather over here for the last month or so with Nelson getting especially badly hit – check out this video of a huge tree being pushed over by the wind in Nelson!
A couple of tourists had their campervans swamped by water yesterday down South as well. So it’s a cautionary tale to take care when driving in your campervan in the South Island because Mother Nature sure knows how to knock you for 6 sometimes!
It is especially important to be careful when driving a motorhome or RV because they can be knocked about by the wind due to the large surface area. If it’s really windy, perhaps park up and read a book for a while until it stops blowing!
